Due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 situation across the UK and as a result of government guidelines for accommodation providers many online travel agencies are temporarily stopping all new reservations. However, Inhabit Short Stays are still open for business for those who really need it right now and here’s why.
Who Can Make Reservations?
According to the Government Guidelines, short term accommodation providers are able to still support those on the frontline. This includes NHS and key workers as well as anyone who is unable to return to their primary residence. Therefore, Inhabit Short Stays will be able to accept reservations from any of these specific groups.
Can I book through Airbnb or Booking.com?
Because the likes of Airbnb and Booking.com do not have the time to examine every reservation. Nor to do the relevant due diligence for each case. They have chosen to temporarily stop any new reservations up until 9th May 2020 when the date will then be reviewed again.
Airbnb were the first to stop all new reservations and have since started a “Frontline Stays Programme”. This programme is aimed to provide support to healthcare staff and first responders. However, for many hosts, even after signing-up to this initiative, the programme is yet to be fully up and running within Airbnb.
Booking.com have now also followed suit and on 22nd April 2020 temporarily started to block accommodation provider calendars.
What Measures Have Been Put In Place to Protect Guests from COVID-19?
Inhabit Short Stays always puts the safety and comfort of their guests first. Therefore, our properties are left vacant for adequate time between reservations, to minimise any exposure to the CoronaVirus.
We also provide an easy self-check-in service for all of our guests to ensure that there is no human interaction and so that we work in line with social distancing.
